TOPIC: 2 more Merc'c

last week I picked up a 650 four for $50, this week I picked up a 75 650 three cyc on a Thunderbolt boat with a shoreline trailer for $100 Both have good compression and run with all controls. Neither are my pick of motors but couldn't pass up the deals. Do a little tuning and sell next summer. The 75 just had a complete new CDI aftermarket ign put in it. That cost a buck or two. Just got tired of working on it and wanted it gone.

My '74 650 has been reliable and strong. I don't care what they say, it was built to last, just like all Mercs.

I like the orig fours the most my self although the 650 is a bit heavy for the power gain over a 500. The 3 cyc is much smaller and lighter I see. I don't doubt they are good motors also. Just hooked on the older ones.
