TOPIC: Lower unit compatability

Lower unit compatability 10 years 8 months ago #113183

I'm in the process of restoring a Mark 58E. The lower unit has a very questionable, and large, crack repair on it. I have a couple of parts motors, a 58A and a 35A. Wondering if there are any issues with compatability. They all look the same. I've gone from a Merc 400 to 58A before with no issues but this is the first 58E I've had. What say ye Merc experts.

only issue is the size of the studs. which can be changed with step studs.

That's what I'm looking for. Appreciate it!!!

I seem to remember someone on here had them available. Anyone remember who that was?

Although the studs in my picture are not for sale (project of my own) they give you an idea of what is needed for the transplant.
