It's cloud white, while the powerhead cowlings aren't, chunk missing out of the skeg, bronze prop, no expert here so I don't know. Curious though, what? Free is GOOD!

Well, the color scheme is kinda rare, because the majority of the 78a's came cloud white, colored ones are much less common. I'll wait for a couple more guesses before I give it up.

Yes, that is the water pickup on the underside of the cav plate.
Yes! It's a Dock Buster!! But, that's not the cool stuff........it's a counter rotating DR!!! Yep....a rightie!!! And it's a real survivor! I went through it yesterday and I could probably put gas in it and go. 125# on all cylinders, no buggered spark plug threads and not ONE ding in the stainless wrap!!! I'm phsyched!!!!!!! |

she is a beauty and free to make it even better, ha good job saving her. I am in the process of savings some 60's Mercs a 67 65 hp, 1100 merc LS and a couple of early 60's Evinrudes a 90 hp starflite automatic 64 and a 65 90 hp Starflite, and a 70 Evinrude 40 hp. some you will keep busy for a while but great job on saving a oldie.

Curious... how can you tell it's a counter rotation prop from the skeg? Just by the pitch of the prop? Nice find regardless!
