Thanks PC! I had A LOT OF FUN. Runs about 43 kmh or 28 mph which feels real fast on the water, faster than I would of thought! Boat runs great, steers great, its just amazing.. I feel blessed

Good for you Mats. Nothing like getting your "new" boat out on the water. Great pics too!

So guys, I have a question.. Something ive been wondering. I do not see anyone else with the same model as me, I have seen some owens/cutters but not many, why is this? Are they not populair? Or just extremely rare? Still trying to find more information on my boat

Did you check the Glassic Library (above). there is an extensive history of the company.
I have know Owens boats from the mid 50's but only as wooden cruisers. My father in law had one. I never knew they made a glass boat called Owens but I was familiar with the Cutters. Looks like in the early 60's they were splashing out quite a few glass boats according to the article so I wouldn't say yours was rare but just not too many left around anymore that are on the water.

I'm working on getting an almost junk 1959 Cutter Jet Deville back on the water. Removed all the wet sponge "floatation" foam under the seats, as well as the wet sponge transom, and have already replaced the transom. Much more transom glass work to do before the summer is out, and the whole boat needs paint, especially the poor brush job on the deck. Also have a '62 70 hp I-6 short shaft Merc being built for it. Need a couple 3 gallon gas tanks, too difficult anymore to hoist a 6 gallon one...

Been working off and on on the old Gator trailer Mats. May do some more work on the transom this weekend, even if we do have a house full with visitors!

Not sure I can pull this trailer completely apart and be able to lift stuff.

Nice find! Would make a cool project.. I wish I could take on another project. But I don't have time for my first one! I would like a small sailing boat with a small cabin.
