I know of the Barnes Company in Ohio, however the maker of this BArnes aluminum boat:

that is often called a "Dolphin" is out of Connecticut, and I think they were only out of Connecticut.

The aluminum Barnes product gained some favor in the larger New England lakes as a decent boat.

Does anyone know if this fiberglass outfit from Ohio of the same name was related to the Barnes Aluminum Boat Co. of CT?

Barnes is an old and prominent family name in CT (Barnes Group: ticker symbol . When I was growing up, a neighbor of mine's father had grown up with Wallace Barnes, who later became CEO of the business. They were both sailors and spent a lot of time around the water. Given the name and connection to the water, and that Barnes Group is primarily metal working, it could be possible that Barnes Boat Company could have been part of that family. Pure speculation, but intriguing.
