TOPIC: 195? Shell lake

Just got followed home by boat number 2 this weekend..
Turns out the larson with fins is not a larson thunderhawk, but it is a shell lake, really not sure of year or make, has double humped fins, after inspecting the inside, all the floats and the paint led me to suspect shell lake, then after a quick scrub down she has the shell lake logo or at least the outline on her.. the question is, what the heck year is it and what model, it's roughly 14' in length.

I thought my shell lake rocket had small fins, but yours take the cake. lol . very good looking boat. glad I did not know about it or it would be in my shop. frog

joe , I think your wrong. look in the gallery and there is a 57 shell lake rocket, red and white with the double hump fins mine is a 58 and it has fins at least 7 feet long. take a look and see. greg

ok found it, you're correct sir, that there is a 57, Rocket. so then my 57 rocket, must have been a 58 or so, that I had in the past.

was Identical to yours only it had the golden javelin johnson on it I imagine the engine boat and trailer were all original together..

I also have 2 shell lakes, my rocket and a 12 ft fishing row boat. now we have 3 s/l rocket owners in f/g. the p/o bought mine with a 50 hp johnson and when he got out of the army he put the 75 hp on it. that is living in greenbay now. greg

nice, what I really love about shell lakes, they are really easy to work on fiberglass wise, very good quality built boats IMHO.

yessir, hoping to have the belmont ready to go, thinking of using the 65 hp merc from the astro for an engine on the belmont, just wish I had a short shaft settup for it though...

joe, is your transom a 16 inch or a 20 inch. I like the motor you found, or I could save you the hard work and hassel of fixing it up. sell it to me. lol greg

lol, I'd have no problem selling it to you, but the guy I bought it from was on a fix it up clause.
