Anyone got a source for windshield edge trim like the one in the photo? It is from a 58 Taylor Made windshield. I have run out of places to look.

Thank you,

Randy

I have used 1/4 inch and 3/8 inch aluminum c channel. The local BMG metal company stocks the channel in different grades. I found mine very easy to work with.

Morris,
Did you have to anneal the channel to curve it or???
What grade or type of aluminum did you use??
I saw a great write up on this somewhere on the fiberglassic forums - maybe under projects??
Thanks,
Thom

I gave up trying to bend a u channel to fit the windshield. With a 1/4 in inside dimension for the channel and a 1/4 inch thickness for the windshield there is no room for error. I did not dare to use the windshield to form the channel for fear of damaging the windshield and am not capable of building an EXACT model to use for forming. In addition when I bent the channel, the legs buckled. I don't know how to prevent this.

Thank you,

Randy
