I had to build seat frames for my glastron and am afraid they are too high. Any idea what the measurement to the seat to should be? I think I am at like 9". just seem like it should be 7.

What's more comfortable to you? (I'm sorry, I should have asked if you were restoring to exact OE specifications.) I plan on rebuilding the seats in my Starflite this winter, and will make them a little taller. (Comfort for me, and increased storage area.) If you were looking for the exact measurements from Glastron, I apologize for the intrusion.

I just measured, the Starflite's are 7" on the main, 8" on the rear jump seats, hope that helps.

That is actually a lot of help. The problem with tall seats to me is that the steering wheel hits my legs. Thanks!

Two options then. Shorten the seat bases like you're talking about, or install a ??degree helm on the steering wheel to tilt it up. (Sorry, I don't remember the exact number, but they make an angled steering wheel mount to give it an "up tilt".) My legs and back start screaming after about three hours in the low squat position. Whatever suits you best, I just believe in being comfortable while "driving the dream".
