The 88 to 98 series trucks were in my opinion the best looking GM's since the 50's They were right sized, good on fuel and by 97 the Vortec series of engines had all the power you could need. I have a 98 I picked up in 2010 in amazing original condition, the truck now has a cap on it but the condition is still the same. I had to do a lot of the usual GM repairs (engine gaskets and seals) but it truly runs like new and drives along smooth and quiet. The truck is 2wd with the 5.7l V8 and limited slip, this thing hooks up and boogies even when towing a heavy boat!
