I ran across an abandoned fiberglass boat with a cat living in it yesterday...about 17', late 1950's-early 1960's, outboard, cuddy cabin, semi-strange styling...called a "Sea Queen." It is similar in size, styling and vintage to an early Glasspar Club Mariner.

I know that Trojan made a wooden runabout by that name but this is something different, I think, and it has no Trojan emblems. Has anyone ever heard of one? I can't find any info/photos about it anywhere.

OK...I found some info and some photos. Apparently, the boat is a G-17 Sea Queen made by Southern Fiberglass Products, the precursor of Cobia Boats. The photo below is not the boat I found but is identical in every way, including the poor condition. I think it's probably a "free to good home" deal but I don't have time for another hard luck case...but somebody should tackle it. If interested, email me and I'll tell you where in Maryland to find it.
