TOPIC: Frustration keep or try to sell

Moving 1200 miles from Illinois to Florida. More time and expenses than I had anticipated. Once down there I have to hit it hard and will not have time for toys for a while.
Thinking about selling my 59 Playmaster. This is really driving me crazy. But I think a project boat will have almost no value. Grrrr
Hull is still separated but is temporarily screwed together for travel. Has proper 1959 58a. Plus everything else, controls steering title. Transom is new. Started foaming hull.......

I feel for you Dave. If you sale it I hope it gets a good forever home with someone who can do it right. Sometimes we are forced to make decisions we don't like. Perhaps someone here can take it on.

Had to call Hagerty insurance. Some how started talking about this boat. She was so into it. Looked at Fiberglassics and she had the same enthusiasm as I had when I got it. She fired me up. I will figure out a way or stay firm at $$$$!!!! I gotta do Dora with some glass!!!

I dropped rims off for new tires. I talked myself into keeping it. I hate not finishing projects. I really hated giving up on my dreams. That really sucked. Trucker picks it up next week. I am going to schedule a few minutes a day. In a few months it will be ready for paint. Title shows it being orange and white.

LOL. I sold my cool guy air compressor, my huge and heavy stomp shear, my bergey wind turbine and my Freeway HMV. Not to mention going through 25 years of kids/family memories....The boat was my last straw. Not to mention My boat is the coolest boat made. Maybe one or two others might come close.................just teasin'

Glad to hear you're keeping it Dave, good decision. Even if it takes a couple years to complete it, I think you'll be so glad you did!

Good choice Dave - keep her covered and out of the weather - come back & work on her as time permits you to. You've done so much work already - I hope you get to enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Someone else started a thread on towing old trailers, then the nightmare stories....I bought new tires, inspected bearings and handed boat to trucker..... Only minor problem one light came loose. My Playmaster is now relaxing under cover in central Florida. I might have to take a vacation day and spend some quality therapy time with my boat!!!!!!

I was able to visit the Playmaster at our new home. My Amphicar did very well as a tow vehicle. I am really looking forward to some progress!!!

Have you tried towing across the lake yet? Look'in good. Look like a project should.

That would be so funny. Waiting for ramp then instead of backing down I just drive in......Sounds like a double dog challenge!!!
