TOPIC: Looking for some information

Looking for some information 14 years 6 months ago #7610

Hi,
I'm new here. I found this site yesterday and I have been looking at all the information that is available. Thanks to everyone for this great source of information.
I just got ahold of an old AeroCraft in need of a little TLC. The tag on the back says it is a Model AG and the serial number is #2818.
Does anyone have an idea of the year this boat was made, its value before and after some restoration, and anywhere else I can get some more information on this boat.
It came with a 40 hp Evinrude Lark II. Model #35520 Serial # 20897.
I would like to get a service manual for it. I have seen some manuals but they seem to have different number of cylinders. How would I know the number of cylinders on this model.
I plan to do as much of the restoration myself. It will be the first time I am attempting anything like this.
What would be the value of this motor before and after restoration?
Any suggestions or hints would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in Advance,
Diane

Diane - I have a number of Lark motors of various years. They are easy to work on and parts are readily available. Have the lower unit checked and resealed, gears checked, impeller replaced, carb rebuilt with alcohol resistant kit and new electrics installed. With a good powerhead you'll get years of service.

Your motor is definately 2 cylinders.

Welcome aboard, Diane. Hope you can post some pics of your AeroCraft and Lark soon, we love pics around here. There are some very knowledgeable folks hanging around here who don't mind lending a helping hand, so don't be afraid to ask questions.
