What kind of shellac do I need for my float on the 35 hp Golden Jubilee? I just got my rebuild kit for the carb and fuel pump and the float was no longer available. Thanks.

Golden Jubilee is late 50s?
OMC carb kit p/n 439074 includes float OMC float p/n 375792 by itself I have the kits & floats in stock. As for the correct shellac, well that I can't tell you. I'll bet you bought a Sierra kit 18-7010 didn't you. Jim |

Model airplane fuel-proof dope, found at most hobby shops that sell model airplanes. Three coats should seal it.

If it came from NAPA then yes it is a Sierra.
John, I looked up 1959. But my memory isn't what it used to be. |

So do you sell the float separate? It seems someone told me last summer to get the kit from Napa. Kit looks OK.How much do you get for floats?

I paint mine with a product called Por-15, it is for sealing fuel tanks, but is not the latex stuff. It is impervious to methanol, ethanol, and gasoline.

try "Sig Supercoat" Butyrate Fuel proof dope. Its about $6 for a small can. Its is supposed to hold up to the alcohol in the fuel. Model RC airplane builder use it in case the plane gets covered with fuel, it wont fall apart. It come in different colors. I got mine, online fron Lantz Hobby Shop in Horseheads, NY.
