Hi all, you you have seen this in the last few years right here on Fiberglassics. This is my friend Steve's boat that he built just for the challange. It looks great and runs great no warm up needed. If your looking for something novel this is it. Go Green! we don't need no stinking gas!

I'm going to build one of those myself once I find another small lummie I like. We have a nice campground at our parish park and they have a nice sized lake (more like a huge pond), but it is electric power only. We like to take our old airstream out there every now and then and it would be even better if I could take one of the classic boats with me.
;)

Here's the original post on the old forums from a few years back with more pics.

Some people are like slinkies... Not much good for anything, but they sure are fun to push down the stairs.

Actually, it's a great idea. It looks like the boat and trailer alone were nicely restored so the electric conversion is a bonus. 4 hours on a charge isn't bad.

Hello, World!!

I have seen the conversion even in the woodies, the problem always tend to be if you have that "need for speed"...

Folks will do a double-take when they see you gliding silently by at 4 or 5 miles per hour

Here are a couple more threads about this boat:

Taken together, these threads would make a great project article.
