TOPIC: Slayton Boats history

Slayton Boats history 15 years 10 months ago #6778

Anyone ever heard of SLAYTON BOATS? They were made between circa 1955 and 1959 at Slayton, Minnesota. It was a fiberglass boat firm. Mr. Art Olson started it by molding hulls for John Lysdale's Pipestone Sales Co. (Pipestone Boats). By 1956 Slayton was self standing. In 1956 and 1957 the corporate name was Limit Products, Inc. It became Slayton Boat Industries in late 1957. Slayton made fishing boats and a few runabouts.

The firm ended with a fire on 18 March 1959.

Has anyone ever seen one? How about some literature, advertisements, pictures????
