TOPIC: When Your Alone.....

When your alone and have no motor lifts, any free motor stands, and the two strong teenage boys can't be found and you need to pull a motor off one boat and put on another, you get creative.

Had an old Glastron I planned to restore...started on waking the 3 cyl 650 up(other posts on no spark etc) but in any case got it working well and then started on the boat and realized how bad it was...floor/stringers/transom all shot and punky so I found a willing person to take it for free and go at it. Tnen I found a gem of a boat for $200 with a blown(torn down) '90 Evinrude on/off it.

So ...lets put the 65 on it. ALone I got creative. My little dog Buddy did't seem too impressed.

Successfully standing after tipping the boat/trailer up enough to pull off the transom.

Successfully hung back on the new boat in reverse procedure. And also fired up and running after changing out and installing the controls and wiring harness etc. Two keys now...on to start the motor and the other to fire up accessories lights etc. BY THE WAY...think I can use my 72 tach wire to splice into the dash tach that was connected thru the harness to the 1990 Evinrude?



Sure would have been much easier with one of my boys to lift and shift but hey....Got 'ER Done.

Good thinking. Next time just put a cheese burger on top of the motor, and a large fries on the transom. Those boy's will show up real quick.

I'm at that age where even though I can lift things, it would probably be better if I did not.

Very creative. I'll have to remember this one.
