TOPIC: Mystery Wheel

My brother - in - law found this wheel back in the early to mid 60's on a sunken abandoned boat in the backwaters of the Mississippi on the Wisconsin - Minnesota border. He doesn't remember anything about the boat, but the wheel has been hanging in his basement for the last 50 years and he said he is tired of looking at it. There is a C W or W C on the center, but besides that I can't find any other markings. Thanks for any help, and if anyone is interested in it, let me know.

Thanks for the quick response! I figured this was the place to find out about stuff like this. This is a great site!! It is unbelievable how much knowledge is out there. My wife would argue the fact if it is important or not, but we all know!!!!
