TOPIC: 1955 Dolphin Series

Hello All,
Just joined your group today, very informative!

I am restoring a boat that was passed down to me by my uncle who had in turn had it passed down to him from his uncle. unfortunetly he is no longer here to answer my questions about the boat.
It is a 1955 Dolphin Series built by the Barnes Boat CO. from Manchester Connecticut model SD-1
It is an all aluminum hull
I have been serching for any information about my boat without very much luck. If anyone can provide any information it would be most appreciated.

one or two pictures of this unique boat... There is a library here, but do not see Aluminum info for you ..... Upstate New York has the biggest antique museum, & lots of reference material because of the judging they would do on unique craft .... Not too much information presently available for Dolphin by Barnes Boat Company. There is a 1960 ad in the Library section:

Hey thank you also for the sugestion of iboats. I am a member and had questioned there as well to find some info on this boat.
The add from ebay shows a boat with similar shape and size, Guess its a "new and improved" model.

This is pretty late for this string, but I have a Barnes Sportabout as well. Not sure of the year. I did it up to look like a wooden boat.
