I'm installing a new floor in my nova ray and was wondering should I seal the bottom of the floor(bilge area)or leave it unsealed so if it gets wet it can dry? Thanks Steve

Hey Steve, what are you useing for flooring? If it is plywood you will need to seal it. If not it will rot out and that will only suck down the road. Most people use epoxy to seal both sides and edges of the floor. It really helps to have venting so you get good air flow under the floor. I am sure more members will jump in here soon and offer up some great advice. Good luck with the project and keep us posted. Skip.

Most definetly seal it with two coats of epoxy. Then two coats of Bilge paint or Valspar oil based Tractor Paint with Hardener. If you have not installed the plywood sole yet you should also coat the underside of the plywood too. Also pay close attention to sealing all edges. Thats the #1 place water intrusion occurs.
