That's a neat boat. Are you selling, buying or just reporting? Looks like it's out west somewhere?

The gentleman that I am getting the Redfish from offered this one to me also. It is in Idaho, as am I. Boat only, motor is not fo sale. It needs my Mark 75 on it.

The step perpendicular to the center line of the boat is very funky. Nice mountain shot in the background.

I was wondering about that as well.Wonder if it catches waves at certain speeds and if so I would imagine that windshield is needed.Very unique.

I am thinking that you should also buy the car off the bow that is in the stern shot photo of the boat to tow it with.

$700 with trailer, no motor. "Or trade for something of equal value, call me." We shall see. Maybe pass on the Redfish and get this.
There is a lesson for me here. Don't shop for boats around the holidays, you will surely find one!!!!!!!!!
The Del Mar is for sale for $300 with the trailer, no motor.

Glass Craft boats look to me as if there were 2 designs, and the maker couldn't decide which boat to build. So, they split the boat 60/40 from 2 different blueprints. That's a Citation model. I have one of those stashed at the ranch. That is the nicest one I've yet to see - it has the original windshield, which is usually missing. It looks really clean. How's the gelcoat? Be aware that the decks in these were cored with paste board - the stuff cereal boxes are made out of - but a lot more thick. It calls apart over time, and never offered any real strength when new. Be sure to check the transom.........

Cool boat for sure. The car in question off the port bow is an Edsel.

Neil--That seems like a pretty good price to me if it's not all rotten inside. Looks like an interesting trailer too. I love the Redfish, but the Glass Craft has that wild verticle step, and I would imagine it is much more rare. Better get both, just to be safe.

I was thinking the same thing. Merry Christmas to me...twice.
I am delivering a Larson/Merc there soon. Swapping for a 700FGS shorty. Trading a battery for the Redfish and looking seriously at locking a deal down on this boat.
This is a repeat, but I feel like the Fred Sanford of little Idaho runabouts.

You're not right. Funny as anything, but not right. I love the Fred Sanford comment. Like I said in another thread, this crowd should go on a comedy tour.

"Live for your comedic pleasure, the FiberGlassics!!!!!" (Deafening applause fills the theater...) They'd have to hand out depends at the door to handle the people not able to "hold it" from the laughter.

Neil, the Del Mar caught my eye as much as the Glass Craft, guess I have a "thing" I can't seem to shake for the cruisers. Speaking of Del Mar's, anybody heard from Larry lately? And might I say Dallas' looks GREAT in the calendar!?

Good info Bruce, guess a person could reinforce the deck some during restoration? You're right about looking like two different designs combined, you'd think they could have eased the transition a little though.....? Go figure.

The Del Mar got me thinkin' bout Larry too.
But I am sure he will drop in with good news and pics of that "new" Del Mar. He is getting close. He is probably battling that northern Wisconsin weather this time of year. December up there gets cold enough to test your frosticles.

Neil, I just saw this thread. You and I keep looking at the same stuff. I was considering the RedFish ... but the price was a little too high ... then you mentioned that you negotiated a "battery" as payment. I need to take you with me when I am trying to buy something!

The blue teenee trailer in the background also caught my eye. That is worth pursueing.

The last Edsel that sold around here went for about $3k ... this seller might be collecting OMC motors ... maybe you could trade him for the Edsel. Or you and I could work a deal, I have an Evinrude 75 to throw in the mix. Then flip the Edsel.

If you want a second opinion on the RedFish and the other finned boat (I forgot the name already ), I would thoroughly enjoy visiting the seller and taking pictures. As I already have three RedFish's and three teenee trailers ... so there is always interest in more (not sure why ).

Anyway, if I can help please let me know.

And our ideas on the Mercury motors exchange is still in place.

They always say three is the lucky number. I have a somewhat rough Redfish Shark in my backyard that needs a new home. The hull is pretty crappy but the upper deck is fixable. (I am making one Redfish, a Shark Capri, from two of them.) You seem to be the man for the tasking. If you want it, its free for the pick up. I can see it laying in the back of your truck as I write this.

Todd, where are you? I am in Boise Idaho ... ready to whip over to your place and view your RedFish project . And anything Free is worth checking out . But I'll bet you are more than 50 miles away ... oh well. Anyway my pickup ('58 Dodge Sweptside) is in a thousand pieces ... ready for final paint, right after I build the frame (IFS, 4 bar, hemi, etc).

Nice Glass Craft Neil. I picked a 59 GC Citation in Harrington, WA this last summer. It's sitting in one of the bays stripped down waiting for the 59 Wacanda to get finished painting. Getting close.

The GC you are looking at has all the rubrail trim I'm needing. Or is that lusting. I'm probably going to have to improvise on mine. I'll attach a few pics of my GC and you will see what a find you have.
