hello to all the team,
I'm new here. I live in Canada in Montreal in the French-speaking province of Quebec. I am trying to restore an outboard fiberglass in 1948 by the company Pigeon and Sons of Montreal.

Happy to be part of the forum and look forward to talking with you. I am a beginner but I learn quickly. Pictures comming soon.

Have fun ;)

Welcome aboard Colab, glad to have you join us. We are very fortunate here to have quite a few members with knowledge and know-how they don't mind sharing with us beginners, fire away with questions when you have them. Looking forward to seeing your pics. '48 Pigeon? Sounds interesting! ;)

COLAB, This is just my 2 cents but I believe that boat would be closer to a 68 than a 48.(If you were saying it is a 1948 year model) But it would be neat to fix up anyway.jim

yes it can be 68 ... the previous owner has kept 10 years and he had recovered from an old uncle. I have the plate number of original series and make a search to find the year if possible. Unfortunately the builder no longer exists ...
Effictive it is in very good condition for its age arteries .....
I have a good base for a great first renovation.

Colab, welcome aboard. Glad to see someone else of my heritage onboard. My grandmother and family were from Quebec, rest her soul. Spoke French on the phone with her sisters so none of the listeners would understand them. Memories from the '40's.
Good project to start with and I'm guessing you already have some ideas of what you are going to do with it.
It's been said many times before, we're like 2nd graders around here and like lots of pictures.

Those were some unique boats with helm so near the bow. Several manufacturers made them like that. I have never seen one restored and in use since the 1970's. I remember as a kid thinking they were the boat version of a van.

Welcome aboard from Western Pennsylvania. I like the looks of your project and think it will make a fine boat project.

COLAB,
Welcome aboard, glad to have you here. Very interesting project. Do you have a motor for it already or what have you considered?

INTERESTING CRAFT
I'd bet it would beat you to death on rough water
Had an old 73 Monarch stick steer that rode so bad I changed it to a tiller steer.

\"too soon old,too late smart\" my pap

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.“

I use all metal to fill holes of various ancient accessories, and it's great as a product, after sanding it like new ...
