TOPIC: Scott Atwater outboard

Scott Atwater outboard 13 years 7 months ago #49236

Who knows about these critters. I got a 7 1/2 hp for a decent price today. The man said it does run but needs a water pump. He is a very nice guy who may be joining us here.
My main interest is for a spare outboard.

Well it's a 1957 model and I take it some had metal hoods and some had fiberglass. This one is fiberglass.

This one is fiberglass.

Well it seems to have very good compression and there is a few videos on you tube that shows a 1954 outboard pushing a boat around pretty damn good.

That little motor brought back memories. I got my grandfather's 7.5 when I was 10-years-old. It sat around in the garage for a couple of years until I talked my dad into helping me build a 8' Minimax. Mine was an older model. It had a throttle that slid across the front cowell and no neutral. Oh yeah, I flipped the boat the first time out Easter Sunday in Dayton Ohio..... COLD!
