Good Deal Fan: Glastrons are popular.. I like the spot light & red color. Trailer still looks clean. I remember looking at one of those models & can also have a removable hard (Rubber) top.. Also those years had a unique item called a rear GLO - Pole. I see a metal slide in your pictures (?). NOt sure if it is one of these
lighted stem .

Again CONGRATS.

Sweet, good looking boat and plenty of potential there. She looks to be in good shape. Make sure the transom and floor are good and solid.

Congrats on getting your first classic boat. It's a 1960 15' Glastron FireFlite. You can check out the seating arrangements on this page too. www.classicglastron.com/60fireflite-web.html

Also, some pics of a restored one here.

Yea, I didn't look closely enough. It's the 16' StarFLite. In 1961, they went to white and red on the bow. It appears to be a 1960 model year in my opinion.

I too just got my 1st boat: 1960 Glastron FireFlite. Seems to be a little variety of detailing on these early 60's Glastrons. Mine has a different side spear then most I have seen:

I don't see the rib/joint/detailing on any of the other 1960's FireFlites I've seen. Maybe the owners of those filled & smoothed them in????

There should be a tag under the glass/poly under the passenger side rear deck. 'Should' be a Serial# that may help confirm year & model.

Thanks & good luck.

Fantm, there has been a discussion on the Classic Glastron page about early (pre 62) hull numbers (under 57 Fireflite). The most consistent explaination so far has been the first one or two numbers is the month of production, then the year of production and the next 2 or 3 being some kind of construction sequence. Your 46043 would indicate it was built in April 1960 and is #43 of that type produced or number of boat produced that month or something similar.

Anybody else with a pre-62 Glastron that would be willing to share the hull number, it would be appreciated. Maybe we can decipher them if there are enough.

When I get her home, I'll check for id#'s. It's got a NY title & old KY registration#'s that I can use to run it down if not clear under rear or front deck.

I guess in some photos the bow & spear lines may be blurred or unclear because of angle & shine on a new paint job. I can just make out the bow lines in 1 of your photos, and the spear lines in the 1st photo you posted after my question, when I click & enlarge it. Maybe they are in the other photos too, just posted in too low a resolution to be apparent.

Thanks & you've gotten alot done! Looks great!

Nice set-up with the motor matching the paint scheme on the boat. Love to see it when it's done!
