Anybody here own one? or know anybody? I did a search here for any mention of this boat, nothing! Seems I have a rare boat. I have done many searches on google and only found one other of this exact boat that were sold many years ago. There is only two advertisements from Glasspar showing my boat. I did find a Larson ad with a very faint picture of my boat. I am also a member on GOA Glasspar Owners Association. I am the only one who put up pictures of this boat. I did a search over there too, nothing! This boat is not ugly just can't find anyone else with this boat. This is a picture when I first went to pick it up.
This is a Glasspar advertisement

Well the open bow 16-17ft seem more plentiful. I did find a closed bow 73 Tempest that held the same model number but it was different. My bow has a raised center area where this one was opposite it sunk down in the center. The cleats were positioned on top where mine are on the sides like advertisement picture. Plus it was 16ft where mine is 14.7ft.
I just want to see other owners with this boat to see how they restored there's what custom things they might have done. With mine I am restoring some things keeping it original but also doing some custom things to fit my needs and update the look alittle. I also notice my bottom is very similar design to the G3 without those side sponsons. The Tempest is considered a Trihull but its not as deep like most traditional trihull designs.

Is that hull a variation of Glasspars Aqualift hull.
Cool boat, great color. I like the seating in the ad.

This is the only other ad I can find. This is the exact same color as mine. I'm putting back the same seat layout. They actually call it a Tri-Vee hull

Glasspar version of the tri-hull. Very stable on the water and you can walk around in the boat without the tipping of the v hull. I think tri-hulls got a bad rap back in the 60's and 70's people said the ride was rough and didn't cut the water, I have owned several of them different makes and never had a problem with ride or handeling. On a windy day or choppy water you won't get the splash in the face that you get from a v hull. The older tri's are plentiful, built like battleships and fairly cheap on the market now.

I'm pretty sure there has been one of these Glasspar Tempests on CL Seattle every once in a while over the last couple years.
I don't think it ever sold.
The ad didn't show a picture of the bow, but the sides of the hull looked like the pictures you have posted.
It had a 1350 Merc on it and the gel-coat was either black or charcoal gray.
I just did a search and it isn't on CL Seattle today, but If you periodically search CL - seattle, it will probably show up again.
