TOPIC: For Sale.......Make Offer

For Sale.......Make Offer 13 years 3 months ago #34793

Here's the jist of it. I have an opportunity to get this boat for free. No idea what it is? Any help and do you think it's worth restoring. There's an out board lying in the back whether it's the original motor or not I again have no idea.

I can't help with the identification but does the boat appeal to you? Do you have the space to store/work on it? If it does and you do I'd say it's worth restoring. The price is certainly right. I like it.

I do like the lines of this hull and it's solid. Space to work on it is no issue and being a retired autobody tech. Means I know what to do and how to do it. My Avitar is the last boat i just finished. Looking for something older and a bit tamer these days. The boat is about 2 hours away in Idaho and I will get an actual look at it this week. just trying to dig up info for now to see what it is. The owner couldn't provide much info. (Older Gent.)

The motor looks 1960-1970 ish Evinrude twin, long shaft. Model/serial numbers on a plate on the transom clamp bracket will I.D. Not sure about the boat, looks flatbottom-ish from the front. Got more pics?

These are the only pic's I have at this point. I have a chance at an early 80's Mercury 50 hp for 300.00 bucks with about 600 hours on it. If this boat can handle the motor I may grab it.

The boat looks nice and will probably handle a 100-150hp Merc Tower :) same vintage as the hull. If you buy and restore her, a couple of knee braces added to the transom will beef it up to handle the Stacker.I think you will be happier with more than 50hp pushing that in the long run, mininum 80,100+ ideal. Whats laying in the back will not move that hull to a reasonable cruising speed,in my opinion.
I wonder how Neil missed that baby it's in his turf,

It's actually owned by my boss's step dad and it's not sitting in an area where it can be see from any road. I'll see what it looks like later in the week. I can't believe that know one has an idea as to what it is yet.

Looks like it could be a Biesemeyer...but that is only a guess.

Picture is just that....no info on model or year. Similar lines, though.

Rod-B your the man!!!! That's what it is. I found the whole set of pic's of the one you posted at Iboats. She was a flat bottom high performance ski boat of it's day. 1958 or so. Really a rare find from what it sounds like.

I concur the hp range and knee braces. Outboard powered flatties need a bit more setup tuning to run right, but are fantastic rides- and tons of cool factor from others on the lake!

Re:Need some help Identifying a boat....... 13 years 3 months ago #34963

Well looks like if I get the boat that a larger engine will be used. The 50 HP I had a shot at sold yesterday. I will be using an newer engine on this project due to the fact that most runs will be made on Long Lake here in Spokane. (other wise known as Lake Spokane)Reliable engines are a must when your dealing with river current. I can't wait to get a look at it.

Sorry guys pic's needed to be resized. Here it ay my place after a 10 mile ride on the old JC Penny bias ply tires. Yeah it made it and they still hold air. I just never hit more than 30 MPH on the way home. You can see the one only bad spot on the hull where at some time in it's life it rubbed on the tire. Easy fix.

As of right now do to the possible purchase of another old boat the Biesmeyer is for sale BO takes this little gem home. PM me if your interested.

I'm located in the Spokane/Nine Mile Falls area of WA. Any money collected for the boat is going to the old gentleman that gave me the boat. I will not be taking anything. It's the right thing to do.
