TOPIC: Free Catalina Dorsett in Rochester NY

This just popped on CL. Called the guy. Says it's all there with good original floors and says he "thinks" the transom is fine. Only problem of course is the lack of paperwork. Says he can't even find a HIN. (anybody out there have one that can hint at original location?). If it had a HIN I'd grab it and go thru the online Wisconsin trick....but....do I really need a third project?

B.F. : I would be on the drive over to GRAB the boat if I was you .. H.I.N. did not come out until 1972 for all boats. SOME mfg offered serial #'s back in mid 50's , but not all.

Yes N.Y can be tought , I lived in Troy & did cycle finds.. Sure there will be a prior Hull reg # on bow. MOtor vehicle can trace last prior reg owner. Write or cantact for a LOST reg. . Last resort get another state to start. Anything inside storage should be above avg cond.
