Hello- I just bought a 1971 16' MFG Westfield and I need to fins the weight of the boat. The boat came with a trailer, but it is 'home made' and was never registered. In order to register it, I have to get a weight on the trailer. I have a scale to go to, but I don't want to take the boat off the trailer, so I thought I would subtract the weight of the boat and motor from the total weight to get the weight of the trailer. I saw one post for a similar boat online that said it weighed about 1200 pounds, anyone know if this is accurate for this type of boat, and would that 1200 include the motor? My motor is a 70hp evinrude which weights about 257 pounds.

I appreciate any assistance.

1968/69 was the last year they made that model. They weigh around 800-850lbs,depending on seats,and other accessories.Motor weight is not figured into this number.Is it a Lapstrake designed hull? More info can be found in the library section on the home page for MFGs.Any other questions that I might be able to help you with give a shout,as I have a 67.
