Spent the last few days building a 30-L x 10-H x 15-W spray booth at our shop.

Still some work to go and should be finished up and trimed out by weeks end.

Any Fiberglassics members in the south east or any where for that mater"I am thinking of driving time" are welcome to use it and my equipment if your set to shoot one.

What is an E-Z up? is it that pole tent thing?

If so I have used them many a time.

LOL,, one I was painting a car and the wind picked it up and lifted it away from my work.. Owww was I ticked... wet paint and the dust from the wind that lifted it... Geerrr. O well such is life... If you can't laugh about it you cant live it. Wish you were closer. It's yours if you need to use it.

I'm doing a similar thing in my basement garage Heather. My space will be about 13' wide X 22' long, with a low ceiling, maybe 7'. I'm building a little thing that goes under my garage door for a box fan to keep negative pressure up. Everything is temporary just to try and get the deck done on my Power Cat. I'm buying an HVLP gun with tips for primer and finish coat and going to play with it on the deck of my boat. I think it'll work out fine once I get it.

I'm envious of that shop of yours. Good for you!

Thanks every one. Well I am set to paint a project. Did some touch up primer work just to see how the up draft was.. It's good. All the over spray just lifts right up and out. I am going to be enclosing it in something more permanent than plastic very soon. Just needed to get it operational for a big paying job.

For some reason I can't see any of your photos in this string. Ventilate your work space and wear good respiratory protection please.

Yes Mark that is the SRV-190 the job out of Atlanta.

And Crosby, I am not sure why the photos are not showing. But I shall take care. I have been painting for about 25 years. And for many years, I did not take care and some day I will pay the piper I am sure..... But these days hitting my 40's... Yes sir..... I am using PPE's to the maximum.

Couple of thoughts. You need strong lighting. Don't see any in the booth. I see a lot of booths with banks of flourescent lamps. That plastic will create a LOT of static charge and be a dust magnet, a paint jobs worst enemy. But the booth looks good. Suggest for ventilation you pull air OUT of the booth and have good quality inlet filters for air coming in.

Of course I'm sure you're complying with all the EPA regulations for paint booth emissions, VOC, etc., etc. that body shops have to comply with. :S :S

There is an addititive you can get through your local autobody paint supplier that is an anti-static. Seems the one I used to use was called Nostat. Anyway, it's just a little bottle and you add a few drops to some reducer and fog it on the vehicle, the plastic, etc. Not heavy, just a mist. It works great.

Some people are like slinkies... Not much good for anything, but they sure are fun to push down the stairs.

Thankyou for all the advise concerns and suggestions guys. This is not my first time at doing this. We have had a smaller 12x24 version of this same setup for years. Any way..... TO THE POINT!!!!

Today, We broke in the new booth. The updraft system worked flawlessly. Hardly a fog of over spray at all as we put down the last primer coats on the SRV-190. I think I need 2 more intake filters as I am still pulling a substantial vacuum once the door is close. I know, I want some but It's still to much I could put in 2 more filters and I think that will do it. Here are some photos of the primer just after getting put down tonight.
