TOPIC: AQUABIRD 1960

I was heading to the job site to day when i saw some guys trying to git this boat in a Dumpster as i drove by i saw the steering wheel so i stopped and ask about it. As i stud there looking at it i herd SAVE ME SAVE ME so i told them i wood salve there problem by towing it a way, they agreed so i towed it home. It came with the motor and trailer the motor is a evinrud 1955 3hp lite twin.

Hope this isn't a disappointment, but "Aquabird Nonmagnetic" refers to the brand of steering wheel which was made by Nautalloy Products of Auburn, New York.

Dam what a lucky find. We have to watch out for what people will throw away. I have saved 4 motor from the dump and got all running.

I took a load of junk to the Local dump about 10 years ago . I swung past the Old metal pile just to look for what ever .Under a pile of Aluminom siding I saw a Brass prop .So I started to dig ....L.O.L... I soon found it was attachted to a Quick Silver lower unit and it was hooked up to a white 50 HP Merc .It took me a good 1/2 hour to dig it out .I brought her home and cleaned her up .It had great compretion and after a couple of hours work it ran like a watch .I gave her a paint job and put it on Ebay ..Got $1700 for it ...Kinda wish I had kept it now but I wasnt into vintage boats then ..A guys gotta keep a looking and youll never know what pops up .Sure would have been a shame if that Merc would have been crushed ..

I have one of these wheels complete not cutoff , in white anybody interested ?
