I made my Gauge and switch Panel today. I had to go to Harbor Freight and buy an adjustable hole-saw. We always used to call them fly-cutters.
Anyway- the backing is 1/4" Lexan. I will probably cover it with "engine-turned" aluminum vinyl.
I need to buy a black-bezel Ammeter or Voltmeter also.

and what the panel can look like:(more Photoshop)

here's the engine-turned vinyl film:

Looks good Ray, nice job. I can check on the black bezel voltmeter at work tomorrow if you would like, just send me a PM (email). I know we have them in stock, don't remember what employee cost is.

Hi,
Your panel looks nice.
As a heads-up, the OMC trim gauge works on a different resistance range than the Mercury trim sender produces. You will have to have matching brand (or designed for in aftermarket) gauge and sender to function properly.

Ferguson,
Yeah... I figured... it's just there filling the hole until I figure out how to add it to the older-style T/T mount. The Gauge will probably go with the T/T unit and harness from the Johnson I'm parting out..

ray i was looking at your pics, that is very cool,i started to think ,lol(danger)lol.
if you left the lexan clear and made up another sheet without the holes except for the wires to go out, then put the engokine turned yinyl on it and use it behind the guage setup as a backer,(kind of like a shadow box)with sides ,it might be cool,or it might be a dumb idea, lol.
here is a very bad drawing,lol(hey its 3:45 am,lol),
this will work if you have the room for it,its just a thought, john p.s.when the attacment is opened you have to rotate it ,or climb up on your desk and lay on your side to view it,lol.lol.
