TOPIC: drilled holes

drilled holes 3 years 3 months ago #145418

Ok had a hole in the boat boat taking on water would not get up on plane. Ok sealed up gas gage opening leaking around screws. Boat off trailer filled with water drilled several access holes under seats to fill. Found one prominent hole upfront...... looked strange like a steel rod poked it.. finish looking over the bottom and grind and seal it up. The more I look at it. It is drilled 1/4" so I must have left the drill out and someone came by and drilled a hole in the bottom up towards the front
...round. 1 4 " now what do I do

If it is a fiberglass boat, start your repair on the inside of the hull if you can access it,...OR prep the outside surface of the
surrounding area to slightly concave, fill the hole with either Duraglass bondo type filler, sand it down to a bit of a concave, and apply several layers of Bi-axial Fiberglass, then sprinkle a trace of baby powder into you last layer of resin to harden it.
Paint and go fishing.
The pros might step up and correct my backyard fix, so probably best to wait for a pro reply.
