TOPIC: How cool is this!!!

How cool is this!!! 3 years 11 months ago #145121

I just received word that a "kid" I used to baby-sit eons ago, has just won his 2nd CSH Championship, this time on the east coast.
We are still great friends today, and his dad lives just (2) houses away from me.
Pretty darn awesome in my book!

Hey Doc,
Can I ask if you got him into racing when you baby sitting, and supplied him with one of you quick motors ?

I was going to ask if he maybe got some special coaching from a young age.

I introduced him to his first Mercury, a Mark 25, and helped plant the seed for sure.

Good job to Sean Byrne,...I am but a lowly "yota" that planted a seed.
I'll try and locate historic pictures, but the praise has to go to Sean for his accomplishments.

Yes a big congratulations to him ! But you gave a young kid the excitement of boating/racing. If you wouldn't have groomed him ? He'd would end up a being an average boring guy like me. You deserve some congrats too !

I visited with Sean this weekend, and he corrected me, saying the the Championship Races were in Ohio, not the east coast.
My bad.
He also got a big smile on his face, when I asked if he recalled his first Merc.
It was a Mark 25. Sunset Orange & Sand Tan. I taught him how to work on it and keep it alive.
