I found these in my parts pile for the 56 Delmar I'm working on. I thought they were part of the fold away seat but I'm wondering now if they are windshield brackets? There's a piece of plexiglas on one of them. I haven't figured out how they would work in either application. Ideas?

Well sorry to say I can't help you on that one David, but I am very curious myself.

That's awesome! Thanks Terrydi! You've restored my wavering faith in FiberGlassics and the internet in general. My searches have been coming up frosty cold.

I've turned these brackets in all directions trying to figure out how they would mount. Looked in the top for matching screw holes. I could see that the screws would have been recessed from the wrong side of what I thought might be the base. Started thinking they must have come off some other boat. Now that I see it, I don't know how I missed it.

They go along great with the other funky cool hardware on this boat. Glad I have both brackets : )

Hey! That was my boat! I took that photo at a rest stop on the way home. Where in the world did you find that photo?

59 Del Mar

When I saw the parts I was reminded of similar castings at the roofline on my 59 Sedan. But the clue was the plexiglass shard you found.

Glasspars were loaded with unique cast parts that showcased Bill Tritt’s design genius.

The Mariner was Delmars big sister. Notice how the casting flow beautifully into the sweeping lines of the deck.

It took awhile but I was able to dig up some shots I knew I had of Del Mars.

Nautilus,

That Glasspar was a beauty.

I grabbed these shots of your boat on the web 6 years ago.

Thanks,
Terry

Cleaned the paint and crud off these brackets and I see that they are pitted. Any way to fill those spots or should I just be glad for what I have?
