TOPIC: Delmar windshield gasket

Has anyone successfully replaced the windshield gasket on a 1956 Delmar? (Is the windshield the same on later Delmars?). I've read here that the gasket kit used with Studebaker cars does not work, but I don't understand why? What's the alternative?

I'm not sure how to proceed with this gasket issue? I guess I need to buy the Studebaker gasket and try it hoping it works, or learn why it doesn't.

I went with a self-locking universal gasket. It was no picnic installing this window.
