Can anybody tell me what this 1" hole is for on the rear of an OMC stern drive? It must do something but it's a mystery to me. The OMC Dual Deluxe resto-mod has twin OMC 120's with the exhaust routed through the transom. I converted the steering to cable using an OMC ball joint set-up. The exhaust relief holes were the perfect size to tap out for 3/4" pipe. I used brass 3/4" x 1/4" bushings which I drilled out to 1/2" in order to mount stainless Heim joints which now connect the two outdrives with a 1/2" x 1" x 24" piece of aluminum bar stock, polished of course. Looks good, works fine.
