Welcome aboard Vince. I can't ID the boat but I'm sure there is someone here that can help out. Nice looking rig.

I know what it is but I'm not going to tell you because you're a new guy. Get back to me in a year or two.

You have to give Jan a little more line than most. He's only running on a half tank

Are there any hull numbers stamped on the starboard side of the transom? Any registration numbers from a previous owner?

There should be some type of identification on the boat registration or bill of sale. If not you might have a difficult time getting it registered.

Your boat may not be older than 1972 in which case there would be a serial number stamped into the top of the transom, starboard side. If not, start looking everywhere...all the non-obvious places. It's hard to believe that the manufacturer wouldn't identify their work in some way...data plate, insignia...something somewhere.

Last ditch effort: If no one here knows what it is, it's for sure that the DNR doesn't. So, call it whatever you want...something like a 1966 Nautiloid. (You like that one Cal?) Make up a believable hull number and have the DNR issue a title. If/when you ever find out what you have, apply for a correct title and destroy the first one. At least that will make you "legal" and get you out on the water.
