Went fishing today, put the rocket in the water and spend a few hours cruising and drowning a worm. When I got back to the landing a guy came up to me and said his dad had a boat just like that OUCH!! then a young couple riding their bikes stopped and the girl said her grandpa had a boat like that OUCH! OUCH! The first guy said he remembered that sound of the motor :pinch: :pinch:

On the other hand there is a guy up the river from me who has to make serious decisions everyday.

I would take those comments as compliments... and I wouldn’t have to make that hard decision as you are boating way out of my zip code. I would love to drive either, but driving my Dad’s 1956 Starcraft fishing boat brings back great memories of 5 generations of great fish stories and priceless family time. I guess you can do the same in that tripple rig. Nice scenery.

Cal,
I would take them as compliments. I don't think I have ever put my Thompson in the water without getting similar comments. With all of these old girls that you have restored, I am sure that you are totally aware that they are meant as appreciation for what you have.

I did take it as a complement. Just didn't have my cane with me. Could have swiped 'em with my fishing poll but it was being used.

Take it as a compliment. I spent last week on Block Island RI with my '69 Owens 27 'glassic. I run a '59 Evinrude 5 1/2 on my inflatable. I got comments like that all week. "My grandpa had a boat like that, I had a motor like that when I was a kid, etc." I think it's great!
Best,
Larry
