Good Day;
I am in the process of restoring (to the extent that I can) a 1971 Ship-a-shore Combo Cruiser. Of my challenges, I have found that OMC apparently no longer makes (and no after market manufacturers either) Binnacle Mount Single lever control, never mind what I REALLY need which is the electric shift switch that resides inside. The switch has two primary functions. One is that it creates continuity in the start circuit when in neutral as well as energizes the forward and reverse circuits as appropriate. I think the original OMC number for the switch is a 172123 or very similar. Does anyone know where to track one down? I have spent countless hours scrubbing the internet, sites, vendors, people etc. to find new or used, all to no avail. In the absence of a functioning switch, a tried and true work around would be nice and so save me designing my own alternative.

Welcome aboard. Haven't seen anything like that yet. Is there a part number stamped on it somewhere? Should be.
We'll put on a search.

Good Day;
While the price is insultingly high, I did find a link to the replacement switch. It can be found at www.sterndrive.info/switch.html . They also add $25 shipping charge to the cost of $229.95

OUCH! Don't do that. Hit ebay for the complete shifter and then rob the part or try some marine salvage places. Search Green Bay propeller and send them a msg.
Go on ebay and type this in the search. "Controls for Johnson or Evinrude outboard motor electric shift 1960's"

Msg the seller for more info.
