TOPIC: New member looking for info on Dorset Calypso

New member looking for info on Dorset Calypso 8 years 10 months ago #131243

I have a 1964 Dorset Calypso 14' fiberglass boat with a 1964 Mercury 40hp motor. Boat is in good condition with original seats, glass etc. Motor is original and runs good. I am looking to sell the boat but I don't know what it is worth. Looking for advice.

Looks really good from this end. If it's water ready and the motor runs, shifts, cools etc. Trailer included with the Bimini top I would start around $5000. and negotiate from there. Even though it is an older boat the condition is everything. A new rig like that would cost in the 10s of thousands so keep that in mind if you are approached by a buyer. Do some homework and price out a new unit, boat, motor and trailer so you can mention that to a buyer. If you think it's worth more go with your gut feeling. You can always go down on price but don't give it away either.
IMHO

I used the boat all last summer and it runs great and is water ready. The bimini top is included and I also have an electric trolling motor to go with it.

Thanks that's a start for me.
