TOPIC: Wind & rain

We have had rain & lots of it since June 1st.

2 weeks ago, we had some straight line winds that took the north side face of my Arctic Cat sign & threw it across the highway. Also, some small stuff got blown around. Miraculously, the 4x6 plastic sign face landed in tall grass & just got a small crack in a corner.

Last night we had about 4 inches of rain. I slept thru most of it. Got to work & found my 18x21 carport ripped up & thrown across the highway. Also, my rental fishing boat (which lives under the carport with the rental ski boat) got hit. Fortunately, the ski boat was rented out. Now I wait for insurance to get things figured out.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune Jim, what a mess! I was just reading on CGOAMN about the big windstorm they had in July on Okoboji Lake in Iowa too. Another member reporting that I-35 is closed due to flooding between Des Moines and Ames. The weather up there has been too bizarre the last couple of years!

I went across the highway & began cleaning up the carport.

As for the boat, there is some damage, a buckle in the transom, some cosmetics and such. The lower unit is into the gravel almost to the top of the prop. I won't rescue it until the adjuster comes. I do believe I have "loss of use" coverage.

Trailer gas a broken fender.

2 fences are damaged.

The dock is a display, not owned by me.

There was no damage anywhere else, just in this corner of my yard.
