TOPIC: New driver's seat base

New driver's seat base 14 years 4 months ago #13054

We'll see tonight if it will hold my fat rear. Moved it down into the hull, and back some. May need more resin & mat, we'll see. Did what I did with what was left in the bottom of a gallon of resin (maybe a 1/2 pint), but it might do it. (If it does, I know exactly how much I need for the passenger side!) Little plate on top is spacer for the seat mount. That's glassed too, just can't see it. Had to take a break from the rear bench to get this done. Passenger front seat is not as important, but will be done in same manner. Might look like it's off a bit, but line it up with the bottom of the dash. It's eyeball level, but I think it's right. I played with it enough!

Can ya tell this piece of plywood has been used a number of times?

More pics later.

Next project, storage up front under dash in center hull.

It seemed okay after I took a shower John. We'll attach that big old bucket to it after work, see how it goes. Might have to test it on the Hudson...

Sure was a lot of measuring and fitting, now I just hope I did it okay!

I hope all is well with you folks. Thanks!

Came out good. You can see how much lower it is than the passenger seat.

Thanks John, came out great. Still need a bit of work (need to glass in vertical support now I got it positioned), but it's okay.

Wasn't so much dirty as sweaty. Hot and muggy here, and I love to sweat, lol.

Get this one done, then onto the other side, then build a storage compartment and finish the rear seat. Rear bench seat is in primer, just needs some sanding and finish coats.
