TOPIC: Thanks to those that helped us out at Eden Isle

All was going well with the '66 Shell Lake Caravel when we stopped at the marina to let the granddaughters take a break.

Turned the key to leave and No Joy. Apparently the system isn't charging and the 2+ hours of running had drained the battery just enough the starter would not turn over. New and unknown friends to the rescue. They pulled up beside us at the dock, pulled out a battery charger and in a few minutes we were back on the water.

Met another glassics member there and am having trouble recalling you name. It was good to meet you and I really want to see that aluminum beauty you told me about.

It was a great day even with the hicups.

I found our charging problem. The outside diode (?positive) shorted and burned the harness lead in two.

I'm off to find the wizard in hopes of locating this needle. The fuse is good, I lucked out there.

Should I change both diodes when I do this?

If they're cheap then get two. You can check the other with a multimeter to see if it's bad. IF I remember right most have a diode setting.
