TOPIC: Need Help Identifying this Lumie

Need Help Identifying this Lumie 14 years 4 months ago #12091

I've gone down the list of the usual suspects but aside from Feather Craft my Lumie vocabulary is limited.

Looks Lone Star-ish to me.

Yes - and I've checked the catalogs I have but I don't see the canted fins that are pretty much attached like a cap.

I saw that at Dennis's auction right? Everyone including myself leans toward LoneStar, but I thought it has some characteristics of an Aerocraft.

I was sent this by a friend trying to help another friend identify it...looks like an Illinois boat - we're in Coloraro.

Aerocraft...I'll have a look

The high crowned deck, raised upward cockpit edge and the U shaped motor well reminds me of the Dolphin boats by Barnes Boat Co boats. But I've only seen a couple 54 or so models that didn't have fins. I don't know how long they were in Business but it might be a later tear. The Barnes Company that made aluminum boats was a New England Company, CT I think.

Peter,
I've had 4 Lone Stars over the years. The splash rail and the raised trim around the cockpit/splashwell look Lone Star, but the high radius of the deck and the fins do not. Also does not have the Lone Star "rocket" bow handle. Attached a pic of a '56 LS Clipper double cockpit I had with similar splash rail and cockpit trim. Close as I can come. Have '56 and '59 Lone Star catalogues, but nothing like this in them. Whatever it is, it sure is cool!

Definitely different than yours. Thanks for the in depth analysis!
