Thanks, I own this boat 4 years. When I was picked up boat and bring home, didnt do anything only just cleaning then put it away for 2 years. then Finally start project on boat. your boat look so sweet!! I like you have seats on the back with hide the gas tank/battery. I wish have that kind in my boat. Wonder if able to find one like that and add in my boat?

Its 85hp 1978 Evinrude 2 stroke, 4 cycle. Top speed at 40mph with 2 people on boat. Now its broken float speed. I need replace, I dont know where can find. I will take a picture and upload so you can understand what Im talk about. The speed gauge is working pefect its oringal too.

It's called the pitot (pronounced pee-tow). It has (had) a small hole facing forward that sends a signal to your speedometer head by measuring the pressure the water creates during forward movement. They are available through any decent marine supply company, and the newer models are designed with a hinge to kick up when they strike an object in the water. If the rubber hose will come off your old one without splitting, you should be able to just replace that piece. If the hose is questionable in service life, (splitting, soft ready to disintegrate and start leaking) I would replace it as well. I have seen them do so, and it will start pumping water inside of your boat when underway.

If you have trouble finding one locally, they are available through www.westmarine.com , www.iboats.com , and places like that.

I'm in Stonington, CT. Where do you normally go? Webster Lake is probably your closest big body of water
