Originally a kit boat, the second owner replaced the plywood deck with a 3/5" Mahogany planked deck. The Custom Craft Thunderbolt featured a double cockpit, wrap-around windshield and a cut-away stern. It was recently restored with fresh gelcoat (this is a glass over ply, or Armor-glass as Custom Craft called it) new upholstery; sanded to wood, stained then 9 coats of Epiphanes spar varnish and fresh chrome.
The Mercury Mark 55 was mechanically restored by Doctor Frankenmerc to factory fresh. All paint and decals were supplied by Peter at NY Marine.
I gave it to my wife 30 years ago and named it C-Rea (pronounced Sea Ray), her nick name. I have faithfully kept it in pristine condition.
We are just the recent keepers of this piece of history. I hope it lives for generations to see.
