Normally, I'd place this in the library additions forum but wanted to show everyone that things are continually coming in to FiberGlassics® making her the largest resource on the web, period.

A nice new addition: Texan Boats. No actual brochure... but one better. Letterhead & original snapshots of one of the boats.

Not sure of the year but by the fins, it's gotta be somewhere from 57 to maybe 59... (you know, the "Glassics")

NEAT!

We now return you to your regularly scheduled website... now in progress.

Kelly

Huh.... Is that the "mystery boat" that has shown up on the boards a few times? There is a black or dark blue one that a member aquired a few months ago that had that Sea Fury look to it, but had sweeping fins just like this one shows. Everyone ws saying it looks like the fins may have been homemade or molded in by the owner, but it sure looks a lot like this boat. Any idea who that was? I can't seem to find pics of it.

Some people are like slinkies... Not much good for anything, but they sure are fun to push down the stairs.

Good memory Doug. I remember it, black with white hull... fins that'd take yer eye out.

Let me see if I can dig it up.

Here's the boat that turned up:

This boat was listed on Ebay back in March.

I went ahead and added this information to the Library:

Letterhead looks like two rubber stamps - cool find!
And - as an added bonus - Doug just proved for once and for all that he really does have a memory left :~)

Outstanding!

There is another chapter to the story on this boat. A friend of mine won this boat in the ebay auction mentioned in March. He was very excited to get the boat. He posted pictures of the boat trying to find out what he had bought. Well a fellow from Florida saw these pictures and got ahold of the seller in Texas and offered him more money than Tom had won the boat for. The Texas owner decided to not honor the ebay contract. And then sold the boat to the Florida buyer also. Tom still really wanted this boat so he even made the trip from Wisconson to Dallas to try and finsh paying for the boat and pick it up. Well the seller would not release the boat. So Tom contacted an attorney in the area and has gone ahead with a suit against the seller. This case will be going to court in the near future.
Good luck Tom on your case.

Yep, and I started scanning and forwarding my collection straight to Kelly.
Started off with the 1961 Bell Boy color brochure.
Also noticed one of the editors has put up the Dolphin items I sent awhile back, bravo.
The library is a huge ever-growing resource.
Every enthusiast (and classic glass site) out there is fortunate to have the 'Glassic site here with the central resources.
