TOPIC: 'Glass work is never done

'Glass work is never done 14 years 5 months ago #10445

Had to go in and re-'glass seat base supports this a.m. before I 1) finish building the back seat, and 2) get ready to give the interior another coat of epoxy paint.

When I first did these, I couldn't get the cheap mat I use to do right angles, so didn't glass over the tops. Since then, I have grown much wiser - now I score the mat just enough to get a sharp bend. One of these bases had come completely off (one in the bottom right of the pic), the others in various stages to one that was fine. So I cleaned everything well with acetone first. Then I cut everything out and fitted it, did my right angle scoring, got everything ready and mixed up a pint of resin (a bit "cold"), which I knew would be more than enough. It's 85 out already here at 9:30 a.m., so I didn't know if the resin would last. It did, but just barely, but I didn't care, I would mix more if I needed to. Actually, I may go back at it after I trim this stuff, and maybe do another small batch. We'll see how I feel!
