Here is how I just made logos for my 1958 Starcraft Jet Star...

I made the mold using Mold Star 15 - product is here: www.reynoldsam.com/product/mold-star/

I made a box using disposable tupperware, glued the logo to the bottom, then used Mold Star 15 to pour the mold. Here is the tutorial video:

I used Smooth Cast 300 to make the logo after I made the mold. The 300 product is the most liquid of the products so flows nicely. I sprayed ease release 200 into the mold before pouring. Here is a video:

Just search for "smooth on" on youtube.

It only took two attempts before I started making really nice logo's. The Smooth Cast 300 dries in 3 minutes so have to pour fast but steady.

One challenge to overcome is painting the finished product. The Smooth On website: www.smooth-on.com/faq.php has loads of information and videos. The website said that after you spray the ease release into the mold to sprinkle it with baby powder to allow the casted logo to take paint easier. I tried this but it did not work out at all, logo came out clumpy. The solution I used was also found on that web site. This issue is the ease release, you have to get that off before you can prime/paint it or the paint just rolls off. I used a toothbrush and isopropyl alcohol to get the ease release off, then I washed in soap and water.. Bingo, the paint sticks! Use a woman's metal nail file to clean up the logo prior to painting. Let me know if you have any questions.

Looks awesome! Are you offering this as a service (for $ of course)to other Fiberglassics members? If so, I'd be interested.

Sorry, perhaps in a couple years when I retire... For now it was education for others on how easy it is. Good luck
