Progress on my 14ft 1959 Commodore. In my possession for 2 weeks. Top is stripped, working on bottom. Seats are at the interior shop. Trailer will go to sandblaster today. I still need a windshield for this one. Found one on a 17ft Fleetform. Are they the same? Any info or leads? Where are the Fleetform guys? Cant get the pictures to post. I'll try again later when I'm not screaming at the computer

Try this thread from the support column, it's got some good info on pic sizing.

www.fiberglassics.com/glassic-forums/support/pic-sizing

Also, to post multiple pics in one post = put the first pic in and make the post. Then immediately "edit" the post to add another. This can be done as many times as you wish. A little cumbersome, but it works.

A 17ft windsheild won't work on the little 14ft commodore. It'll be too wide.

Unless you actually find another Fleetform with a windshield on it , then you'll have to make one. The best I could do is make a cardboard or paper jig of a few of mine and send it to you. From there you just have to buy a sheet of plexi and cut and bend it into shape.

However , it's important to note that many Fleetforms didn't come with windshields , and if the deck doesn't have the hardware for it then it may be tricky to mount and still look decent.

This one I am shure came with a windshield. I can see the holes they filled for the mounting hardware before they house painted it with a brush. I can also see where the windshield ran on top of the deck. What could I do for mounting hardware? A template would be great if you could supply one. You can call me anytime if you want. (618)363-6978. I also need some emblems, bow light, stern light, odds and ends if you have any.

I have an all white entire complete 1959 14ft commodore that isn't restored. However , it would kill me to pull all it's original hardware and thus make it a parts boat. maybe if you wanted the whole boat , but I wouldn't part it out.

The only place you can get the proper hardware and missing pieces is from another boat , they simply just aren't for sale anywhere else.

thats my problem, if I get a whole other boat I dont know if I could bring myself to strip her. How much do you want for the boat? Does that one have a windshield? If not, could you send a template and some pictures of your windshield? Thanks
for the help

Well I would probably want too much for my boat cuz I love these things , wouldn't wanna insult you with a crazy price.

But I could definitely send a paper or cardboard template. When made your windshield would only be bent laterally and not vertically at all so it'll look a tad different , but won't be very noticeable.

And it is possible to find a NOS bow light on ebay. In fact most boats from the era use the same bow light.

I noticed that. After looking at them alot of them look the same. Would you have the time and knowledge to make a windshield for me? I could pay you for that instead of buying the whole boat. I run my own auto repair shop and find it hard to find time. I had to hire a guy to help me sand the boat to prep for primer. Just a thought. Let me know

I've never made a windshield b4 so I wouldn't be the person to hire. Not to mention even if I made it I really would haveno way to send it to you lol.

the best I could do is make the jig and send that to give you and idea of the size and shape.

That would be great. I listed my phone number earlier in the post. Give me a ring and I will give you my address. Or i guess you could just look it up on my profile. If you run across another one of these boats that you dont want, please let me know. Thanks

Depending on the motor I would still trade the white one for one.

I'm currently using a nice little 50's 18hp evinrude on my other boat. But I would like something from the same era only maybe 35 to 40hp. the 18hp doesn't have alota umph.

I have a 1958 Lake N Sea boat with a 1959 Scott 40hp outboard. I just took it on the lake this past weekend. Runs great. Rebuild carb, rebuilt fuel pump, new fuel lines, VERY COOL looking motor. I will send a pic. Dont have one of the boat yet. Boat has a crack in the windshield and has been repainted(needs done again) but is all there. Looks great on the water.

Would you be willing to trade it? It does look like a nifty motor.

My white boat still looks just like that , minus the plastic on windshield , and the trailer is painted white.

The wind shield got smashed on it. All the hardware is there if you want to make a new one.

If I work out this deal, I may be interested in selling you what I dont use. I am getting this boat for parts so you may be interested in the shell and trailer. I dont think I will be using the motor and controls either.
