Here's the 1969 Correct Craft Barracuda we've been restoring. It started out as a "put the engine back together and get her seaworthy" job which turned into a total restoration. It was one of those boats that had everything but needed everything. The upholstery had been replaced at some point and all we did was clean it up...which was a major job! The decision was made to junk the 318 Chrysler that was all apart and re-power with a 280 HP Ford 351W that we built-up from a rebuilt long block. Just a few last minute details to take care of before the shakedown cruise.

I'll post a couple "after" photos here but I have a Photo Restoration Log with start to finish photos that can be seen here:

Sweet job! Did you have the windshield replaced? I am looking at getting mine replaced and not having any luck finding someone local that does plexiglas winshield replacement.

This boat has the original glass windshield, not plastic. It is marked "Taylor Made."

What did you use to label the switches on the dash?

Thanks for the compliments. I'm glad we did the complete restoration too. I hate to send something out the door that is less then the best I can do.

Here's what I used to label the switches:

Also, the original dash panel was beyond redemption without several hours work just to make it semi-OK so I covered it with "engine turned" vinyl. That's also available on Ebay:

I happened to notice that since I posted this thread, I've lost two Karma points. I guess some people just don't like orange.

Sweet! Question...a lot of vents and air scoops on bow and stern area - are they actually plumbed to the engine? Pretty cool. Interesting way to feed air to it.

beautiful job.

You guys are too generous. You're embarrassing me! We're just three guys who love what we do and are fortunate to have great clientele.

The vents on the bow are functional...routed to the engine compartment with 3" flex pipe...original Correct Craft. Unfortunately, the original fuel tank had rusted through and had probably been leaking for years. (The stringers were mushy with rotten gas!) That galvanized tank had the fill pipe inlet on the port side. The only new poly tank I could find with the right dimensions and capacity has the fill inlet in the center. That required a new fill fitting/cap. Naturally, all this was discovered after the boat had been painted so we added a vent to cover the original hole and then drilled another hole and added a second vent on the starboard side for symmetry. So now, two vents collect air and the two facing rearward are attached to the bilge blower.

A clever solution to the problem, and I like that you made it balanced by the other vent. As stated above your boats are over the top gorgeous.
